Our First Publishing Party

In Second Grade we have been working very hard since the beginning of the year on writing our Personal Narratives. It has been a lengthy process. We started off by learning how to generate ideas, draft, list, be creative, and work together. Once we wrote our first draft, edited, revised, we had to rewrite on special publishing paper. These are not easy tasks for second graders. However each and every second grade achieved great success, and I am VERY PROUD OF THEM.

Today we had our very first publishing party. Morah Beatrice and I baked a cake for the special celebration, and each child had a chance to read their fabulous writing.

BUILDING NATIVE AMERICAN HOMES

In Social Studies we are very busy building our Native American Homes. Each tribe had to make a sketch of what their home will look like. They also made a list of supplies they will need to help build their homes. They started prepping their materials, and building their homes.

DECORATING TURKEY CUPCAKES

Second graders had a fantastic time decorating turkey cupcakes in preparation for Thanksgiving. They made some really funny ones.. the best part is that they had a chance to enjoy a yummy treat that they made by themselves.
