Forces and Motion

What are Forces and Motion? This was an inquiry question that we had in our last Science Unit. We used the smart board to research what forces and motion are. We learned about levers, pulleys, and the inclined plain. What can these things be used for? This was one of the questions I had for the kids. We learned about the uses, but I thought it would be a great idea for the kids to have a firsthand experience so we divided into three groups. One group built a roller coaster to show how an inclined plain can be used in real life, once group used a bucket and some string to build a lever. They were able to make the bucket go up and down. The third group built a wagon to show how a pulley works. The most interesting part was that the wagon was made completely out of paper, and they were able to put books inside.
